Tampa Fire Rescue, Cushman & Wakefield and Massey Emergency Management conducted the largest high-rise training exercise to date in Tampa, involving multiple jurisdictions and many personnel on May 7.
The drill, conducted at the 40-story One Tampa City Center – the city’s premier office address, involved a firefighting simulation while integrating the Massey App into the incident command equation.
The drill occurred early on a Saturday morning and closely mixed the building staff into the exercise, tapping into the app and their existing response protocols. It was filmed by a drone (a first) and covered by the local NBC news affiliate.
The Tampa Fire Rescue Department has now implemented The Massey App. Now buildings of all types in that community can provide full access to their Massey Plans to local first responders in an emergency.
“It’s essential to our emergency preparedness” said long-time Property Manager Sandi Ballestra at Tampa City Center. “Now that we have it we can’t live without it.”
