Massey has begun work on what will be the 5th tallest building in the U.S. when its construction is complete. This will also be Massey’s 27th addition to its “Over 50 Club” (tall buildings that have adopted the Massey App).
30 Hudson Yards, which will rise 1,296 feet (and 90 stories) is part of the largest private real estate development in U.S. history. The 2.6 MSF tower sits at the SW corner of 33rd Street and 10th Avenue and will exceed the height of the Empire State Building. It will possess the highest outside observation platform in the country.
When completed, Hudson Yards will be home to 125,000 people daily with over 17 million square feet of commercial, hotel, retail, cultural and residential space encompassing more than 100 shops and eateries as well as app. 4,000 residences along the Hudson River in Manhattan. The overall project is expected to cost more than $20 billion and is the largest real estate project in US history.
10 Hudson Yards was the first tower to go up and Massey has completed that 55-story, 1.8 MSF office building, which is now occupied.
30 Hudson Yards will be completed in 2019 and the building is already fully committed with tenants Time Warner, CNN, investment firm KKR and Wells Fargo.
It becomes the tallest client tower in the 30-year history of Massey Emergency Management, which has preplanned over 800 million square feet of buildings. The tallest Massey client previously was the Empire State Building at 1,250 feet. Over three decades Massey clients include the 100-story John Hancock Center in Chicago and many more supertalls – a commercial real estate term for the tallest buildings in the world.
